Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 1, 2026 · Mioluo LLC · info@mioluo.com
This Privacy Policy describes how Mioluo LLC (“Mioluo,” “we,” “us”) handles information when you use the Mioluo language-learning application and related services.
Information we collect
Account information. If you create an account, we collect information needed to authenticate you and operate your profile. Depending on how you sign in, this may include your email address and information from your sign-in provider (such as Apple, Google, or Facebook). We may also store a username, country, gender (if you provide it), language-pair preferences, onboarding progress, and app settings linked to your account.
Learning content. Mioluo is built around phrases and memories. We store the phrases, translations, contexts, pronunciation notes, exercise results, review schedules, goal-related content, and progress data associated with your account.
Optional location. If you enable location in the app, we may attach location-related information (such as city or coordinates) to memories you create. You can turn this off in app settings.
Social features. If you use friend or sharing features, we may store a public profile, friend connections, friend requests, and shared phrase content linked to your account.
Device and local data. Some preferences (such as theme and certain toggles) may be stored on your device. Speech practice uses on-device speech recognition to compare your spoken answer to the target phrase; we do not operate a separate server-side recording store for routine practice audio based on the current app design.
How we use information
We use the information above to:
- Provide translation-assisted phrase creation and memory enrichment
- Save, organize, and review your language memories
- Run exercises, track learning progress, and schedule review
- Generate audio playback for phrases you study
- Operate optional social and sharing features you choose to use
- Respond to support requests and process account or data-deletion requests
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and enforce usage limits on backend services
Third-party services
Mioluo relies on service providers to operate. Depending on your use of the app, data may be processed by:
- Firebase (Google) — authentication, cloud database, and server functions that connect app features to our backend
- DeepSeek — translation and memory-enrichment requests sent through our servers (source text, language context, and related prompt content). Some translator activity may be logged in our database for debugging and service improvement.
- Google Cloud Text-to-Speech — phrase text and language/voice settings sent through our servers to generate audio playback
- Sign-in providers you choose — Apple, Google, or Facebook when you use those sign-in options
- Location lookup services — if you enable location, third-party geolocation services may be used to label memories (for example OpenStreetMap Nominatim or IP-based geolocation helpers)
These providers process data on our behalf to deliver app functionality. We do not sell your personal information.
Analytics, advertising, and payments
The current Mioluo app does not use advertising SDKs. Firebase Analytics is not enabled in our iOS configuration, and we do not currently integrate dedicated crash-reporting or remote-config analytics products in the app codebase. The app does not offer in-app purchases or subscriptions at this time.
Data retention
We retain account and learning data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account or request deletion, we delete or anonymize associated personal data except where we must retain information for legal, security, or dispute-resolution purposes.
Your choices
You may review and update certain profile and app settings inside Mioluo. You may request access to or deletion of your account and associated data as described on our Account & data deletion page, or by emailing info@mioluo.com.
In-app account deletion is not yet available in the current app build. Before App Store release, we plan to add an in-app deletion option for apps that support account creation.
Children
Mioluo is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at info@mioluo.com.
International users
Mioluo may process and store information in countries where we or our service providers operate. If you use the app from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date when we do. Continued use of the app after changes become effective means you accept the updated policy.
